The Fruit of Our Labors
(Blessing or Curse)

What is the fruit of our labors? It is the rewards (blessings or curses) we receive for the way we live. If we live as the Lord instructed and intended us to live we will be blessed with great rewards. If we live as men/women (politicians) instruct us as we have been doing for a few decades now, we will be cursed and without great rewards (Going Down Hill). Our Government tells us what is acceptable in the church and what isn't acceptable.

He who is in me is greater than he who is in the world.  Where is the Church?  The church is the bride of Christ. It's no way for a bride to treat her Groom. The church is not exempt from God's Word.

Our Supreme Court Justices look at the rest of the world and what they are doing to make decisions on our role in the world (interpreting our Constitution) and we the church let them get away with it and then cry about our troubles and sickness. Oh poor us. We have become cry babies because we no longer have the back bone to tell those who are working for us to do it right or get out. Impeachment was for those officials who are appointed not those who are elected.  If we voted our conscience instead of worrying about our pocketbook we would repent of our sins and soon clean up our government and our pocketbook would be full and running over. Or we could buy all with only a half full pocketbook. My point is, God would provide. He can't provide now because we either live a life of sin or condone those who do because we don't want to offend anyone. How about the offense to God? Matthew 10:33 says, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."  If we don't defend His word we are denying Him.  We are the example. Is it any wonder we have to live like we do? We condone what our government is doing to us by repeatedly voting them in. We are guilty.  Shame on us.

Since the 50's our politicians have passed laws that go against the very grain of the life that Jesus told us to live; against the life style our forefathers intended. They say they know best but they can't even stop corrupt spending in our government (because they are corrupt). We, the American people, have voted them in because of their party, Republican or Democrat, and paid little attention to their agenda. Worse yet are the millions of Christians who never vote.  We pay no attention to what they say only the color of their ticket. Is it any wonder this country is in the shape it is today?

John 15:4 says, "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me." The Lord Jesus, whether you like it or not, is the Vine of our lives, we are the branches and our rewards are the fruit that is produced. We have stopped nurturing the vine and have let the branches grow too big to bear good fruit.  Jesus wants to be our Lord and Savior.  He may not be the savior of many because they consider themselves too good to repent and ask Him.  But, no matter what anyone says, He is Lord.  He will judge us all and we had better be ready to accept His judgment like it or not.  There will be no excuses because He is a Just Lord and His Word is true and just.  He will not discriminate or show favor to anyone who was ashamed of Him to the world.

At one time this great country was eating of the fruit blessed by the Lord. We made a living on seventy five dollars a week, we filled a 20 gallon tank of gas with 4 dollars. There was no need to register a sex offender because he or she was in jail.  Our children were safe on the streets and no one was offended by the Lord's Prayer. Our Armed forces were praised for their bravery and their sacrifices, not slapped in the face and called mass murders by a bunch of cowards who fled to Canada, or worse, Russia instead of fighting to keep us free. We were a Great Nation.

In John 15:5 we read, "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing." We didn't look around to see what the rest of the world was doing and fall in line. We knew we were blessed because we worshiped the Lord Jesus not a president or a false god. The Lord, not the dollar, was the head of our family. We were blessed.  Stop and remember our youth and the love family members showed toward one another.  Where is that today?

Today we say, "Well I believe in God, but I need lower taxes and more money in my pocket." It would be nice to have lower taxes and more money to spend, but we can't do it through politicians.

James 3:12 says, "Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? Either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh."

We can't have it both ways. We can't live as the world wants us to and have the rewards that Jesus has promised. The ways of the world are corrupt as much as we would like to think they are not. There is no corruption in the Lord. There are those who will say He is corrupt because they want to live life the way they see fit, but they are liars.

Matthew 7:17 says, "Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit."  Take a good look at what we once were and look at where we have ended up.  It proves that Matthew 7:17 is true.  We need to turn this country around and go down the path we once walked.

You are a member of the church.  This year when you vote pray about it first.  Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you.  If you don't hear from Him, quit crying and get saved. James 4:8 tells us to, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."  Once you have done that, then pray again.  Remember Jesus truly does love you. He wants His best for you.  What do you want?

God bless you.
