Same-sex marriage a major end-time sign

Dear friends:

Here is something startling I did not know and maybe you don't either.

WorldNetDaily writer Janet Folger documents from the Jewish Talmud that the only other time in history where there was widespread homosexual marriage was just before the Flood when God saw that He had to destroy the world.  He considered it that much of an abomination.

That, of course, was in Noah's day, and Jesus said that His return would be "as in the days of Noah."  Now just in the past few years and increasing rapidly, there is a clamor for the legalization of homosexual marriage, with official approvals.  For that and other reasons, we are clearly in a time that is "as in the days of Noah."  The clock is rapidly running out.

Below is an excerpt of Janet's article.

How same-sex marriage points to end of the world

What do May 17, 2004, and May 15, 2008, have in common? One judge and a redefinition of marriage against the will of the people.

Both the Massachusetts Superior Court and the California Supreme Court by a one-judge margin redefined what marriage has always been in every culture and every religion for more than 5,000 years of recorded history.

Why does this matter?

As I wrote about in my book, "The Criminalization of Christianity," Jeffrey Satinover, who holds an M.D. from Princeton and doctorates from Yale, MIT and Harvard, was on my radio program one day and I asked him about where we are in history. He explained that according to the "Babylonian Talmud" – the book of rabbis' interpretation of the scriptures 1,000 years before Christ, there was only one time in history that reflects where we are right now. There was only one time in history, according to these writings, where men were given in marriage to men, and women given in marriage to women.

Want to venture a guess as to when? No, it wasn't in Sodom and Gomorrah, although that was my guess. Homosexuality was rampant there, of course, but according to the Talmud, not homosexual "marriage." What about ancient Greece? Rome? No. Babylon? No again. The one time in history when homosexual "marriage" was practiced was … during the days of Noah. And according to Satinover, that's what the "Babylonian Talmud" attributes as the final straw that led to the Flood.

On my Faith2Action radio program on Thursday, Rabbi Aryeh Spero verified this to be true.

Rabbi Spero spoke of God's compassion before the Flood, in hopes people would repent and turn back to His ways. He showed patience for hundreds of years.

But, he said, the Talmud's writings reveal that "before the Flood people started to write marriage contracts between men, in other words, homosexual 'marriage,' which is more than homosexual activity – it''s giving an official state stamp of approval, a sanctification … of homosexual partnership."

In fact, he said, "the writings indicated that it wasn't even so much the 'straw that broke the camel's back,' but that the sin in and of itself is so contrary to why God created the world, so contrary to the order of God's nature, that God said then and there 'I have to start all over … to annihilate the world and start from the beginniing. …'"

Rabbi Spero went on to say, "Even in ancient Greece they did not write marriage contracts between men. There was homosexuality, and it was wrong, but there was not an official 'blessed' policy. … Marriage is 'sanctification' (not simply a partnership)." He said to confer the title of sanctification and holiness upon this behavior is "probably one of the greatest sins of all that one does against God's plan for this world."

The one time it happened was: "During the days of Noah." When I first heard this, my mind immediately went to a verse I've heard many times but never with such relevance. The verse is found in Matthew 24:37. It reads:
As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. – Mathew 24:37 (NIV)
I used to read this verse and think: It was bad at lots of points in history; it doesn't necessarily mean now, but if these Jewish writings are true, we are uniquely like the "days of Noah" right now – and only right now....

Scholarly response to my same-sex marriage message

Dear friends:

Below is a scholarly response from a distinguished Ph.D. and Th.D. friend to my 5-22-08 message about same-sex marriages as a sure sign of the end times. (I have such a great mailing list, put together by the Lord. Thankfully, I had little or nothing to do with it!)

Dear Jim,

This trend for countries to legalize same-sex marriage began gradually, first with laws passed in secular, pagan Europe legalizing homosexual partnerships. A law review article published by Jonathan Curci in 2005 states that legalized "same-sex unions" began in Denmark in 1989. (THE EVOLUTION OF THE LEGAL CONCEPTS OF "FAMILY" AND "MARRIAGE" IN THE EU LEGAL SYSTEM AND ITS IMPACT ON SOCIETY, by Jonathan Curci, St. Thomas Law Review, Vol. 18, Issue 2, 2005/2006, pages 227-258.) Then more recently, forms of homosexual "marriage" have been legalized first in European countries, and now (as you noted) in some states in the USA. Official societal sanction of homosexual "marriage" is truly very recent and unprecedented development, EXCEPT apparently for ONE other time in the very, very distant past.

In one of my "politically incorrect" publications (see my unpopular article title in the next sentence) that I wrote before states in the USA began to legalize "marriage" between people of the same sex, I wrote, "A form of same-sex marriage has recently been allowed in Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany, and a form of registered partnerships has recently been legalized in Canada, Denmark, Iceland, Hungary, and Sweden--totaling only 8 of over 200 countries in the world formalizing homosexual unions." (AN EMPIRICALLY-SUPPORTED
RATIONAL BASIS FOR PROHIBITING ADOPTION, FOSTER PARENTING, AND
CONTESTED CHILD CUSTODY BY ANY PERSON RESIDING IN A HOUSEHOLD THAT
INCLUDES A HOMOSEXUALLY-BEHAVING MEMBER By George A. Rekers, Ph.D. St. Thomas Law Review, Vol. 18, Issue 2, 2005, pages 325-424.)

And then sadly, the states of Massachusetts and California in the U.S.A. have recently joined this very recent development of granting official societal and governmental approval for "marriage" by homosexuals.

This is particularly interesting in light of prophecy and personally for me in light of the professional area of specialization that the Lord directed me to become involved in through the assignment of my dissertation topic on preventing homosexuality by my major professor when I was a Ph.D. student at UCLA in the early 1970s. It is as though the Lord was using my research publications on sexual identity and career as an expert psychological witness as yet another reminder to mental health professionals and government officials who have used my research as a witness for Him and as one more way he was calling our nation to repentance from the "politically correct" sinful direction of our culture. I know from letters, emails, personal contacts, publishers, callers to radio talk shows I've been on, and phone calls that many did benefit from my thousands of pages of publications that the Lord enabled me to produce (through his divine guidance in circumstances and opportunities and testimony to the US Congress, etc.).

But now, the culture as a whole--through the media, educational institutions, and advocacy groups--has made what was previously "unthinkable" as acceptable, turning away from God and now in Massachusetts and California legalizing same-sex relations as though they have the sanctity of "marriage" (the first social institution that God created for humanity).

Your email message and forwarded article.... helpfully "connects the dots" of this historical development that apparently has never before occurred except just before the Flood in "the days of Noah." This "rings a bell" for those of us who know Scripture, for Jesus predicted his second coming would be signaled by such an unusual historical development. Jesus said, "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:37-39)

Genesis 6:3-7 explains that "the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth... And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart." The article you sent cites the "Babylonian Talmud" in which the Jewish rabbis wrote their interpretation of the Hebrew scriptures 1,000 years before the birth of Jesus Christ. I was surprised to learn that in the Talmud which was written not that long after the Flood, those rabbis explained that the "marrying and giving in marriage" included men "marrying" men.

Your email "connects the dots" by linking this historical rabbinical commentary of Genesis 6 about the Flood in the Talmud with Jesus' prophecy about his second coming in Matthew 24 to the otherwise unique historical circumstances of the degenerate legal creation of homosexual "marriage" in our time. Indeed, we should anticipate the soon return of Jesus Christ in this very rare circumstance.
