GIVE ME GRACE LORD

It seems that this life has dealt harshly with me,
I can't walk very well, can't really be free.
While my health goes to pot, I just try to hang on,
Though sometimes my strength's almost totally gone.

So I plod slowly on, though I know not quite how,
And I pray to the Lord as I humbly bow.
Give me strength blessed Lord, to get thru each day,
Let me show good examples as I go my way.

Give me grace as I go to accept what may be,
For the future dear Lord, you alone can foresee.
Let me not put a block in my fellowman¹s way,
Help me Lord, give me courage, I humbly pray.

Help me encourage someone, worse off than I,
And then in the end, let me quietly die.
Then I'll come there to you, a most joyous place,
Prepared for your own through your infinite grace.

There my grandma, my momma, my daughter await,
To give me a hug by that great golden gate.
There will be no more pain, and sadness will flee,
I'll be there with you Lord, at last I'll be free.

No One Can Take Our Jesus
by
Ruby Ketron - 2004
Copyrighted - 2004

No one can ever take our Jesus,

If we turn our life over to Him.

If we put our trust in our Savior,

He will help get rid of them.

Just tell all of your temptations,

To take a great big flying leap,

So you won't give in to Satan,

And land in the garbage heap.

They can take away our Bible,

Tear it completely into shreds.

If your life is grounded in Jesus,

You will have no major dreads.

Put the scriptures from the Bible,

Deep down within your heart.

Where Satan cannot reach them,

God will never from you depart.
------
"Heaven and earth shall pass away,

but My words will by no means pass away."

Help For The Discouraged

Sometimes I feel discouraged,
When I think about my life.
For it now seems so worthless,
And is filled with so much strife.

Then I take it all to Jesus,
And He always gets me through.
For Jesus is my fortress,
And He will be a friend to you.

So when you get discouraged,
Please take a hint from me,
Give your burdens to Jesus,
And He will set you free.

Just turn your eyes to Heaven,
Always let my Savior lead.
You will no longer be discouraged,
He has everything you need.

Your Savior is there waiting,
For you to turn to Him.
Turn your back on the Devil,
Then invite my Jesus in.
Impossible Day

It was one of those days,
when you cannot catch up,
tho you peddle as fast as you can.
I put some clothes in the wash,
added soap, turned it on,
and I started to work as I ran.

I looked up and saw, that the fans
and the vents were growing
white beards on their edge.
Cobwebs hung here and there,
dust was thick everywhere,
how could I clean that high ledge?

I climbed up on the bed
and the next thing I know,
I was sailing back out into space.
Scraped my elbow a bit,
landed with a big thud,
and a real stupid look on my face.

I was not really hurt,
dignity suffered most.
I'm farther behind than before.
So, I rolled and I tugged,
looking like a beached whale,
as I tried to get up off the floor.

I had gone through a door,
landed flat on my back,
there was really not much room to move.
Though I am quite small,
the whole thing took a while,
but, I finally found the right groove.

And I said to myself
as I limped out of there,
"Well, that really was not very smart."
"You could have hit your head,
or broken a bone and it
sure isn't good for your heart."

"The next time you clean,
just use your head,
don't climb and make better plans."
"There just has to be,
a much better way,
to clean both the vents and the fans."
Dedicated To God

God gave us a child.
She was shy, she was blond,
she was beautiful
and she was ours.

We raised our child.
She was loveable, she was kind,
she was talented
and she was ours.

God took our child.
She was young, we were sad,
we were lonely,
but she was God's.

Outrage On America

As we watched this happen,
it looked like a war
and seemed so far away,
But it was right here.
Their carnage and grief,
we felt with deep dismay.
The frightful effects
of such an act,
so hard for us to grasp.
In our own United States,
we feel safe.
It really made us gasp.
How could this be?
We should be safe.
Why an act of war here?
This could not be.
We were in shock.
It could not be so near.
We picked up the pieces,
salvaged what we could,
took the rest away.
When they get this guy,
our minds will rest.
We will see a better day.

Part of our world was blown away.
We all looked on with deep dismay.
In seconds, lives were broken, lost.
Dads, Moms & children were the cost,
of someone's rash and beastly act.
Uncounted grief and pain, in fact.
Now, both parents and children grieve.
This horrid thing they can't conceive.
How many killed?, unknown as yet.
This trying time, none will forget.
Left To Weep

(In memory of those lost in the shuttle)

Seven more lives were lost today,
Everyone looked on, in deep dismay.
Space has claimed them, once again.
This time, two women and five men.

Their families are now left to grieve.
Children lost parents and now need,
much loving and caring to fill the gap.
Their world unraveled by this mishap.

They are left to wonder where they are,
and why they had to go so very far.
Clear out of their reach, lost in the sky.
They are left to cry and to wonder why.

Husbands or Wives are left behind.
Parents also feel that they want to find,
a logical reason for this tragic loss.
And many nights, they will lie and toss.

Their grief will dim, but never go away.
They will look at the children as they play.
Remember their love, no longer here,
who will always remain so very dear.

Earthquake And Ocean Rage
by

So many people lost their lives,
plus their way to make a living.
They lost everything they had,
the ocean was so unforgiving.

As we watched it, on T.V.,
we could barely believe our eyes.
Someone captured the giant wave,
from an apartment in the skies.

The huge wave, tumbled shoreward,
people jogged farther inland,
They did not perceive the danger,
that destruction was close at hand.

Some managed to cling to something;
but, most were swept away.
Nearly five thousand people lost
their lives on that horrible day.

Those who managed to stay alive,
now had nowhere to go.
Nothing to eat, water not fit to drink,
death all around them, you know?

They cried out for their loved ones,
searched deligently everywhere.
How, from the thousands of bodies,
could they ever find them there?

Other nations sent aid, sorely needed,
they were trying to do their best.
But many would never be identified,
put in mass graves, with the rest.

This earthquake's final destruction,
may never be fully known.
So many bodies were carried away,
the ocean claimed them as its own.
Wicked World

Oh what a wicked world we live in.
It gets worse as on we run.
So much killing, raping, stealing,
Setting fires, it seems for fun.

The Bible says that this will happen,
Weather too shows time is short.
People continue being wicked,
They think their life is just a sport.

Church and God are not important,
They do not heed what Bibles say.
Pleasure is their main attraction,
All they really want to do is play.

Some day soon, life here will end,
What will happen to them then?
Our Lord will come, claim His own,
The sinners torture will then begin.

When from hell, they cry in anger,
"Why am I here, what did I do".
God will say, "you did not accept me,
You rejected me, now I reject you".
God Gives Us Strength

God gives us strength every day,
will always see us through.
There will be rocks and hardships,
we might stumble walking too.

We must first be always faithful,
and put our trust in Him.
We cannot simply go our way
and follow every whim.

But, we must choose every day,
which path we will trod.
Must always pray, remain fast,
and always trust in God.

God will supply what we need,
the frills are extra gifts.
We must put our faith in God,
then, He will give us lifts.

Don't expect more than you need,
Christians are truly blest
Remember, everything we ask for
isn't always best.
We Should Not Judge
by

You should not judge a person,
when you meet on the street.
You get good or bad impressions
by the company they keep.

Words pretty much can show,
what type they really are.
Are they rude r are they nice
or do they really care?

Do they say, "God bless you",
or do they simply growl?
Do they take problems to God,
or just sit down and howl?

Have they invited you to church,
or to visit in their home?
Do they spend time with family,
or do they like to roam?

Do they ever say, "I love you"?
How do they treat their friends?
Are they constantly complaining,
or do they try to make amends?

Do they try to go to church,
or lead someone to God?
Where they spend leisure time,
makes you hesitate or nod.
It's A Beautiful Day

When I get up to a beautiful day,
I think of what Mr. Rogers used to say.
"It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood",
And somehow, this makes me feel good.

Your outlook on life has a lot to do,
With the way you feel, it can help you.
See everything in a differant way,
It matters not if you work or you play.

Because each moment belongs to God,
He can change them, with just a nod.
If they start off wrong, He can make it right,
Heal your sickness or prevent a fight.

If you lean on God, every day can be,
Perfect for you, try it, you'll see.
Only our Lord can be in control,
If you try to be, you'll land in a hole.

Only one master is allowed to lead,
You can arrive with Godly speed.
To accomplish this, you must believe,
With God in charge, you can achieve.

Our Lord Is Always With Us

Our Lord is always with us,
No matter what we face.
He is there to comfort us,
And will give us extra grace.

We only have to reach for Him,
He is always there.
Whenever we feel all alone,
Our Lord will always care.

He always waits so patiently,
For us to take His hand.
He can give the strength we need,
And He will understand.

But, we must take that first step,
It's really up to you.
If you'll just take the first step,
He will show you what to do.
