Earthquake And Ocean Rage

So many people lost their lives,
plus their way to make a living.
They lost everything they had,
the ocean was so unforgiving.
As we watched it, on T.V.,
we could barely believe our eyes.
Someone captured the giant wave,
from an apartment in the skies.
The huge wave, tumbled shoreward,
people jogged farther inland,
They did not perceive the danger,
that destruction was close at hand.
Some managed to cling to something;
but, most were swept away.
Nearly five thousand people lost
their lives on that horrible day.
Those who managed to stay alive,
now had nowhere to go.
Nothing to eat, water not fit to drink,
death all around them, you know?
They cried out for their loved ones,
searched deligently everywhere.
How, from the thousands of bodies,
could they ever find them there?
Other nations sent aid, sorely needed,
they were trying to do their best.
But many would never be identified,
put in mass graves, with the rest.
This earthquake's final destruction,
may never be fully known.
So many bodies were carried away,
the ocean claimed them as its own.
