ABOUT SALVATION

HOW DOES ONE BECOME BORN AGAIN?

For someone to be born again, or saved, one must first admit that he/she is a sinner. In I John 1:8-10, John tells us, "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." Romans 10:13 tells us, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." How do we call upon God for salvation? By prayer. The following is an example of a prayer that can be used to accept Jesus as your own Lord and Savior. This is not the only prayer you can use, but each of these elements should be included in whatever you pray.

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner. I am sorry for all the things I've done wrong in my life. I ask You now to forgive me. God, You promise in Your Bible that if I call on You, You will forgive me, cleanse me, and save me from the pit of hell by the cleansing blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. I accept that for myself right now.

Jesus, I ask You now to come into me, fill me, be Lord of my life. I receive You now as my Savior, and the Lord of my life.

Thank You, God, for sending Your only Son to die for me that I now can be forgiven, saved, and made whole in Your sight.  Thank you for filling me with Your Holy Spirit.

I pray this prayer in Jesus' name, Amen and amen.
My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth (I John 3:18).
